Where’s a will there’s a grill
Who doesn’t like a good old BBQ session on a sunny afternoon right? Well I can definitely say that I do! I’ve noticed that over the last couple of years it’s becoming more and more popular. So popular that the even the Intratuin (a big garden shop in the Netherlands) has dedicated a whole section of different BBQs and accessories to it. Which seems to get larger every year. I see a lot of people using a ceramic kamado grill. Which is a great choice, if you have the money and the space. That’s not really the issue for me but due to the ‘homeowners association’ it’s not allowed to BBQ where I live. So what’s next, where to? Well it all depends on the municipality when and where you “officially” light your grill. If you ignore these rules you can risk a fine up to 90 euro. So now I know where and when I’m allowed to light my BBQ which leaves only one “burning” question. which one am I going to take with me?
The Weber Go Anywhere
They had me at Go Anywhere. Funny things aside this BBQ ain’t no joke. His reputation precedes me. This little bad boy is first made in 1979 and still very popular until this very day. When it comes to portability and customizations this one takes the crown. Hands down.

Upgrades people!
There are so many hacks and custom parts available on the web for this particular BBQ that I decided I want to join the club. I went online to order my very own Go Anywhere to find that out the one they sell in the EU did not had any side handles?! I guess I had to Go SomeWhere Else. And so I did.
Now that I found the version that I wanted which was the charcoal version WITH the side handles it was time to shop for custom parts. Now you can almost replace anything that this BBQ has to offer which in the end you spend more on parts then the actual thing itself.
I ended up buying parts from a German company named Zifa Grills. They offer custom parts for a variety of Weber grills, made of their good quality German EDELSTAHL. An overview of my collection:
Keep on rolling
Now to give it wheels without inventing them. That’s where the STANLEY STST1-80150 Essential Rolling Chest comes in. This toolbox has the perfect dimensions to make a perfect fit for the Weber Go Anywhere. That is for the “non side handle” version. I did had to make some adjustments so mine could fit.
It’s a very versatile toolbox. It has a couple of compartments for BBQ accessories and even a telescopic handle for easy transport. You can also store some items inside your Go Anywhere but just be careful after a good BBQ session things tend to get greasy.

To protect the bottom of your BBQ I recommend using a protective shield. If you wrap it around aluminium foil it’s easy to keep clean.

So this is actually an Ikea product for the lids of your pots and pans. It’s inexpensive and made out of stainless steel which makes it the perfect ‘Rib Rack’ for your BBQ. You can also use it for chicken drumsticks.

Now to get your briquettes going without any fuss I highly recommend using the Weber Rapidfire Compact. You can also fit this fire starter into your Go Anywhere BBQ.
