Yesterday, I visited the vibrant Ukrainian community at Thomaskerk where they hosted an extraordinary food festival, blending culinary delights with heartfelt charity. The event, organized to support both local and international causes, drew crowds from many different locations, eager to taste traditional Ukrainian dishes and contribute to a noble cause.
Volunteers from various organizations worked tirelessly to ensure the event’s success. Their dedication and passion were evident in every aspect of the festival, from preparing food to the beautifully arranged market stalls.
It was a 2 days festival and there were different types of tickets available, they offered a Odesa vibe ticket (Saturday only) on which you could participate on an exclusive afterparty at location Ijland in Amsterdam-Noord. Unfortunately we couldn’t go because of The Netherlands playing a soccer match againt Turkey in the Euro 2024 quarter finals.âš½
A Feast of Ukrainian Flavors
As soon as we entered Thomaskerk , the air was filled with the aromas of freshly cooked Ukrainian cuisine. Every dish was on display so you can get a good idea of what you want to try and what it actually looks like.
